We had an early start with less than five hours of sleep after our night out with Adam, so we were feeling a bit worn out today. We made it to the meeting point on time this morning. The bus was overcrowded, extra seats folded out of the armrests adding a row down the center. Two bus rides later we finally made onto the tour bus destined for mount Fuji about a one and half hour ride up a winding road to the viewing point around 2200 meters up the volcano. A huge snow covered active volcano that has not erupted since 1707. En route we stopped at two nearby sights, the first was a lake where we took a short cruise on a huge catamaran that dropped us off at a small resort where we took a cable car to the top of a mountain where we had a great view of the surrounding mountains valleys and lakes. Freezing cold at the top but worth it. Our guide explained that time was running out and that we needed to get back down the mountain. This was our first time on a organized tour and it was great we met lots of cool people today from all over the world, India, Australia, Israel and of course Japan.
After a long and amazing day we arrived at our hotel after dark. We are tired and hungry and ready for a good nights sleep. We have another early start tomorrow.

Wow is all I can say! The things you can do when you’re still so young. Amazing though how one can function on less sleep when you are doing something so stimulating! I am getting a vicarious thrill reading about your amazing trip! MUM XXX
