Day 32 Luang Prabang, Laos to Siem Reap, Cambodia

Packed up, had brekkie and checked out.  Chan took us to see two Buddhist temples – Wat Xieng Thong, and Wat Mai as well as the National Museum (formerly the Royal Palace) in Luang Prabang, .

Neither of the Temples were spectacular, similar to the others with many golden Buddhas.

Lunch followed at a local restaurant – with air conditioning, good local food.  After the food market we were increasingly cautious about what we were eating!

Short ride to the airport, no air conditioning and temperatures in excess of 100+F and no wifi.

Arrived in Siem Reap after short 1 1/4 hour flight on Vietnam airlines, where we did battle with mosquitoes for the entire trip, think we won this time!

Met at the airport after visa and passport stuff by our guide Savy and driver Chia, in a 2001 Lexus RX300, felt so at home, our old car!  Temperature reads 104 and it was already 4pm.

Checked in to lovely hotel, but had to get bug control in to dispose of yet more mosquitoes.

Savy recommended we try ‘Pub Street’ for a bite so we went on a tuk tuk and OMG – so not what we expected!  Neon, street vendors, ice cream shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, nail salons, and anything else you could think of! Mobbed.
