Day 30 Hanoi to Luang Prabang, Laos

Didn’t have to get up early so tried to sleep in a little but we were still up by 7am, then had a relaxing breakfast at the fab Melia Hotel Hanoi!

Checked out of the hotel and met our guide Tony who had our laundry! We asked him yesterday if he knew where we could do laundry (hotel prices a tad high) and he told us he knew a woman who would wash it for us, so we gave him 2 big bags and she did for a grand total of 8 bucks! Awesome! We have some clean clothes again! Thank you Tony.

On our way to the airport again, just a 45 min drive and a 1 hour flight to Laos, arriving in Luang Prabang.

After some visa and passport issues we were met by our guide Chan and taken to our hotel. Mosquito battle in the van ensued en route, think we won!

Pretty hotel with attentive staff, just gotta watch out for the pesky bugs!

Took a stroll down the Main Street, passing an untold number of ATM’s and money changing booths. Up 383 steps to get to

Stupa, also known as Wat That Commsi. A golden stupa, located on top of Phou si, affording a great view of the surrounding countryside, village and Mekong River.

Strolled through the night market which sold tons of ‘hippy’ shit! Stopped to eat at the Indigo Cafe – thanks Trip Advisor.
